CORNING, NEW YORK - Karrie Neurauter, 20, a former Rochester Institute of Technology student, pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree murder in connection with the death of her mother, Michele Neurauter, 46, on Aug. 27. Her father, Lloyd Neurauter, 48, is also pleading guilty to custodial interference charges and conspiracy in the second degree. Their pleas were madKarrie Neurauter, 20, e Friday Morning in Stueben County Court. Michele Neurauter was strangled to death and appeared to be a suicide. However, authorities determined that her death was a homicide staged as a suicide. Lloyd Neurauter admitted that his wife's death was driven from his desire to take custody of his daughter and to eliminate the burden of having to pay child support.
Karrie agreed to testify against her father and will face up to 15 years to life in prison upon sentencing. She is currently being held at the Steuben County Jail. Lloyd Neurauter's trial is scheduled to begin Sept. 24 in Steuben County Court.
