ONEONTA, ALABAMA - Last weekend, Blount County, Alabama sheriff's deputies arrested a Tuskegee University, Fallon Danielle Blackwood, 24, after being indicted on 13 counts of bringing property obtained under false pretenses into The Yellowhammer State. Victims claim they freely gave Blackwood their horses with the understanding she would take them and provide them a loving home at her farm. However, she sold the horses to slaughterhouses for meat in Mexico. According to advocacy group the Horse Fund, smuggling horses across the U.S. border to Mexico for slaughter is a common practice. Blackwood quickly bonded out of jail. A spokesman for Tuskegee University tells K1LLER, Inc. the private institution is prohibited from commenting on student enrollment status while the charges are pending.
