Senator John Sidney Sidney McCain III died at 4:28 p.m. on August 25, 2018 after battling Glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, for which he had been treated occasionally with radiation and chemotherapy since its discovery in 2017. Senator McCain wasn't like most politicians. He was a naval aviator, prisoner of war, and twice-defeated presidential candidate with a good sense of humor. Both in uniform and public office, Senator McCain, was a national hero. McCain, survived years of imprisonment in Vietnam, before becoming a public figure on the political stage for decades. Despite his medical condition, he made a dramatic appearance in the Senate to cast a vote against his party’s drive to repeal the Affordable Care Act. There are many incredible stories about Senator McCain. Unfortunately, he died. He was 81.
President Trump, though he clashed five times with Senator McCain during his time in the White House, also sent his condolences to the McCain's family. "My deepest sympathies and respect go out to the family of Senator John McCain. Our hearts and prayers are with you!" President Trump tweeted.
"John McCain and i were members of different generations, came from completely different backgrounds, and competed at the highest level of politics. But we shared, for all our differences, a fidelity to something higher-the ideals for which generations of Americans and immigrants alike have fought, marched, and sacrificed. We saw our political battles, even, as a privilege, something noble, an opportunity to serve as stewards of those high ideals at home, and to advance them around the world. We saw this country as a place where anything is possible - and citizenship as our patriotic obligation to ensure it forever remains that way.
"Few of us have been tested the way John once was, or required to show the kind of courage that he did. But all of us can aspire to the courage to put the greater good above our own. At John's best, he showed us what that means. And for that, we are all in his debt. Michelle and I send our heartfelt condolences to Cindy and their family," stated former U.S President Barack Obama.
“Senator John McCain was a patriot, and an extraordinary American war hero. Born into a storied Navy family, he spent his entire life in service to his country, including 22 years in the Navy, five and a half of which were spent under the boots of North Vietnamese communists in a Hanoi prison. First elected to Congress during the Reagan Revolution, he championed the strong national defense that he knew would help ensure the survival of freedom and liberty across the globe. He did things his way, and conducted two campaigns for President of the United States with honor and integrity. Today, the State of Arizona, and our entire nation, have lost a great public servant. He was larger than life. Although he and I sometimes disagreed, I was deeply privileged to serve with him and proud to call him a friend. Heidi and I send our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Cindy, and to the entire McCain family, as they grieve the loss of a loving husband, father, and grandfather. May he rest in peace.”
“Few people have served our country with as much distinction as Senator John McCain. His remarkable impact on health care was in keeping with the way he lived his life and served his nation—doing what he felt was right, even when it was not easy—putting his fellow citizens above politics. Today, we honor Senator McCain’s life, mourn his death, and wish condolences to his family," said Barbara L. McAneny, M.D. President, American Medical Association.
"My father, United States Senator John Sidney McCain III departed this life today," her statement, posted on Twitter, began.
"I was with my father at his end, as he was with me at my beginning. In the The thirty-three years we shared together, he raised me, taught me, corrected me, comforted me, encouraged me, and supported me in all things. He loved me, and I love him. He taught me how to live. His love and his care, ever present, always unfailing, took me from a girl to a woman- and he showed me what it is to be a man.
"All that I am is thanks to him. Now that he is gone, the task of my lifetime is to live up to his example, his expectations, and his love," she continued.
"My fathers passing comes with sorrow and grief for me, for my mother, for my brothers, and for my sisters. He was a great fire who burned bright, and we lived in his light and warmth for so very long. We know that his flame loves on, in each of us. The days and years to come will not be the same without my dad- but they will be good days, filled with life and love, because of the example he lived for us.
"Your prayers, for his soul and for our family, are sincerely appreciated.
"My father is gone, and I miss him as only an adoring daughter can. But in this loss, an in this sorrow, I take comfort in this: John McCain, hero of the republic and to his little girl, wakes today to something more glorious than anything on this earth. Today the warrior enters his true and eternal life, greeted by those who have gone before him, rising to meet the Author of All Things:
"The dream is ended: this is the morning.
"I love you forever - my beloved father," said Cindy McCain

HAWTHORNE, CALIFORNIA - Elon Reeve Musk, the founder, CEO, and lead designer of SpaceX; co-founder, CEO, and product architect of Tesla, Inc.; co-founder and CEO of Neuralink; and co-founder of PayPal, proposed on August 7 to take Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) private and claimed there was “funding secured” at a share price of $420. Which, sparked a Securities and Exchange Commission inquiry. Shareholders were outraged. In a Friday night post on Tesla’s website, Elon Musk announced he was abandoning the idea to take Tesla private.
"Earlier this month, I announced that I was considering taking Tesla private. As part of the process, it was important to understand whether our current investors believed this would be a good strategic move and whether they would want to participate in a private Tesla.
"Our investors are extremely important to me. Almost all have stuck with us from the time we went public in 2010 when we had no cars in production and only a vision of what we wanted to be. They believe strongly in our mission to advance sustainable energy and care deeply about our success.
"I worked with Silver Lake, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, who have world-class expertise in these matters, to consider the many factors that would come into play in taking Tesla private, and to process all the incoming interest that we received from investors to fund a go-private transaction. I also spent considerable time listening to current shareholders, large and small, to understand what they think would be in the best long-term interests of Tesla.
"Based on all the discussions that have taken place over the last couple of weeks and a thorough consideration of what is best for the company, a few things are clear to me:
"After considering all of these factors, I met with Tesla’s Board of Directors yesterday and let them know that I believe the better path is for Tesla to remain public. The Board indicated that they agree.
Moving forward, we will continue to focus on what matters most: building products that people love and that make a difference to the shared future of life on Earth. We’ve shown that we can make great sustainable energy products, and we now need to show that we can be sustainably profitable. With all the progress we’ve made on Model 3, we’re positioned to do this, and that’s what the team and I are going to be putting all of our efforts toward.
Thank you to all of our investors, customers and employees for the support you’ve given our company. I’m incredibly excited to continue leading Tesla as a public company. It is a privilege."

The greater number of the participants, namely 76%, believe that sex education should be taught by parents, legal guardians and every educational institution throughout the United States. "The saying 'it takes a village' applies to sex education as well," says Dr. Kat Van Kirk, resident sexologist for Adam & Eve. "It's imperative that teenagers receive information from different sources and understand that each source has its own agenda… whether that is religious, cultural or social. But teens are much more astute than many people realize, and they can pull the data they need from what is provided."

WASHINGTON - Nearly 60,000 adolescents are taken to an emergency room every year, because they consumed medicines that were in their reach. The Up and Away campaign—led by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) PROTECT Initiative—is providing households with five important tips to protect children.
"Spring cleaning can be a big part of keeping your family healthy and safe at home, and that means doing more than dusting and vacuuming," said Dr. Dan Budnitz, Director of the Medication Safety Program at CDC and coordinator of the PROTECT Initiative, which focuses on children's medication safety. "Every year, approximately 60,000 young children end up in the emergency room due to accidental medicine ingestions, so as you're cleaning and reorganizing areas like bathrooms and medicine cabinets, remember to safely store medicines you are using and safely dispose of medicines that you are not."
The Up and Away campaign urges families to follow these five tips to keep their children safe and healthy:
