TORONTO, CANADA - Budweiser Canada and the Toronto Blue Jays™ are bringing baseball luminaries, Joe Carter, 58, and Roberto Alomar, 50, out of retirement to celebrate the 25th anniversary of back-to-back championship wins and to batter up with a group of devoted baseball players. Beginning today, baseball enthusiasts can enter the contest by explaining to Carter and Alomar why they deserve to play with the pros using the hashtag #BudHomeRunContest, following @BudweiserCanada and tagging @BlueJays on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook.
"There's no feeling like hitting a big home run, especially when a championship is on the line," said Joe Carter, Canadian Baseball Legend and Retired Blue Jay. "It's hard to believe it's been 25 years since that game, and I am excited to celebrate and give back to fans who are still so passionate about the sport."
"Adult rec league baseball players across the country get together with friends every week to play ball, and maybe even hit a few big home runs," said Mike D'Agostini, Director of Marketing, Budweiser Canada. "That's why for the 25th anniversary of one of the biggest home runs in Blue Jays history, we want to celebrate baseball across the country with two of the biggest names in the sport for one unforgettable game."
