NEW YORK, NEW YORK - Taylor Alison Swift was born on December 13, 1989 in Reading, Pennsylvania, and like Blake Shelton, moved to, you guessed it, Nashville, Tennessee to land a recording contract. She was 14 at the time. In 1997, Scott Borchetta, was terminated from UMG Recordings, Inc.'s subsidiary, MCA Nashville, and returned sevens years later to the same office, after DreamWorks Nashville merged with the same company from which he was fired.
Toby Keith, and Borchetta co-founded "Big Machine Label Group," and signed Taylor Swift as their first recording artist. On October 24, 2006, her debut studio album "Taylor Swift" endured 277 weeks on Billboard Charts, peaking at number five, and Recording Industry Association of America certified her album as platinum five times for selling five million units worldwide. In 2010, Big Machine Label Group, and Taylor Swift, 20, made musical history when she became the youngest songwriter/performer of any genre to win an Album of the Year Grammy.
According to Isacc Newton's law of gravity, "what goes up must come down," but, not for Taylor Swift, as she continues to go up, and that's one of the reasons shes become a mega-superstar. Her life consists of continual media attention, and appeared in Forbes World's 25-highest Paid Musicians, displaying earnings of $45 million, respectively. As far as philanthropy, on August 8, 2008, Swift , 18-at-the-time, announced at a sold-out concert in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, one of the hardest-hit areas affected by natural disasters, that she was going to donate $100,000.00 to them through the American Red Cross, and stuck to her guns, handing the humanitarian organization a check for the amount she promised. Since 2012, Swift has ranked number one on www.dosomething.org's yearly Celebs Gone Good list, and continues to shed light on others by doing such good deeds.
