TORONTO, CANADA - This year marks Budweiser's fifth anniversary of the iconic Red Light, a wifi-enabled goal-synced lamp that illuminates when a goal is scored, and works when the light is paired with the Budweiser Red Light app. Beyond 1.5 million Budweiser Red Light and Glasses illuminate in houses across Canada. To celebrate, Budweiser and Wayne Gretzky, Canadian former professional ice hockey player, are making Super Bowl LII even bigger with limited-edition Wayne Gretzky Gold-Synced Lights. It comes with his legendary number, 99, and replica signature accompanied by certificate of authenticity.
"Goals are the most exciting part of any hockey game, and as someone who has played hockey at all levels of the game, including the international stage, there's no better feeling than having the country celebrate those moments with you," said Wayne Gretzky, Canadian Hockey Legend. "I'm excited to light these limited-edition lamps to celebrate our country's biggest goals. Let's bring it home!"
"The success of the Budweiser Red Light inspired us to make something special this year for the fans, and what better way to bring that to life than with The Great One himself," said Todd Allen, vice president of marketing, Labatt Breweries of Canada. "Over the years, we've celebrated goals from coast to coast, and we're excited to now put these gold lights and glasses in the hands of Canadian fans and let it shine."
